Old Hong Kong’s Airport Reopens As 1 Billion Cruise Terminal

Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong, which was closed for 15 years, gets reopened for the world traveler’s as one Billion dollars cruise terminal.

Last night at 8:00PM (Hong Kong Local Time), Mariner of the Seas Cruise of Royal Caribbean, which is a 15-deck, 310 meters cruise departed from this cruise terminal with more than 3000 passengers.

It is expected to get this terminal fully functional no sooner than October of 2013. Most of the work which includes customs, immigration, etc is done. But, still there are some parts of the works to be get completed before it opens to the public.

Philip Yung, Hong Kong’s commissioner for tourism said that they are expecting to complete whole work and open the terminal for public by October of this month.

After the completion, this terminal will be having 2 berths. It will allow the biggest cruises, a roof garden containing restaurants and shopping areas.
