Traveling with pets on the roads can be fun and enjoyable but flying with your pet can give you traumatic experience and sometimes it’s even dangerous.

To make your fly with your pets safe and comfortable, you must know some things before booking your flight tickets.

  1. Prefer to book your flight tickets only for morning or night flights in order to avoid temperature variations like extreme cold or hot.
  2. It is also recommended to check the flight through which you want to travel whether it is having access for pets. Some does not allow pets in the flights. So, make it a note.
  3. Give your pets number of car rides before you fly. Take them to a park or for a picnic treat. So that they feel that they are going for a favorite ride. Make sure using carriers while car rides.
  4. Age of your pet is also considered to travel by air with your pet. Your pet must be aged over 8 months to fly.
  5. Book your tickets in advance. At the last moment because of less space availability, your pet may not be allowed into the flight.
  6. In case, if you don’t have enough space to keep your pet with you in the cabin, check with the airways whether it provides cargo to transport your pet.
  7. Check with the cargo whether it is well-maintained and ventilated! Because, there are cases in the past being missing pets or injured or at times even death.
  8. Carry your pet’s health certificate while flying because diseased pets are not supposed to fly. Travelling with pets having medical issues is dangerous.
  9. Get all the immunizations required for your pet before you fly. This is just to make your pet fit to travel.
  10. Put large sized diapers to your pet as you are not allowed to take your pet out of the carrier in the flight. Even if it does pee, your pet is not allowed to take out until it is scanned by security.
